Its rooms are compact and large with a full continental breakfast including tea, 2 seperate beds plus tea as advertised. The hotel offers excellent and unbeatable location a walking distance from Palermo downtown. They have lots of meals to choose from, the food is local. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

The location is great and good and the staff are pleasant! 30 minutes drive to the airport, it is located very close to a public market.

Text: Hotel Cortese offered cozy rooms with ample space to stretch out, especially for claustrophobic individuals like me. The noisy surroundings provided a constant reminder that peaceful sleep is overrated. The breakfast croissant, however, almost made up for it.

The hotel is located in the heart of the old part of Palermo. There are a maze of narrow streets and it can be tricky to find, but it is worth the effort. Just behind the hotel are the daily markets which at nighttime are the bars and restaurants for the university crowd. This area is not for everyone but suited us down to the ground. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you enjoy your stay in Palermo. We always felt safe in the hotel - don't be put off by the unkempt appearance of the streets in the area.

Even though the room was quite small it was really clean. The hotel is located in a central location close to all important buildings.
The noise coming from pubs just behind the hotel.

The location is close to many popular tourist destinations, personnel was quite helpful.
Not all the staff spoke English, the location doesn't seem to be really safe at night, noisy area.

I liked the location near Ballaro Market and our balcony which faced the market where you could see the daily activity there. I also felt the hotel personnel was extremely gracious, welcoming and accommodating.

The rooms at Hotel Cortese are simply furnished with a flat-screen TV and air conditioning. They are clean and comfortable, perfect for a budget traveler like me.
Personally, I would have preferred the rooms to have more modern facilities like satellite TV and free wifi. But I understand that some guests might enjoy the simplicity.

A clean friendly budget hotel centrally situated for the sights of Palermo. Staff recommended local restaurant and directions to bus stops etc., as well as organising airport transport. Highly recommended.
At first, difficult to find.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
